Julie Grose is the top Indexer in the Pleasant View 11th Ward and also one of our Stake's outstanding Indexers. She said she had always had "heart tuggings" to be involved in family history work. She got started in 2009 while serving as a leader in Young Women's. She found inspiration and encouragement from her father-in-law, Wayne Grose of the Colonial Springs Ward, who is another top Indexer in our Stake.
Sister Grose is currently serving as a counselor in her Ward Relief Society Presidency and works part time at a health clinic. She makes time for Indexing in her busy schedule by having her computer in her kitchen. She says it is easy to sit down and index a batch or two while dinner cooks or between chores. She often spends her Sunday afternoons Indexing.
Julie likes to picture in her mind the people for whom she is Indexing or doing Temple work. Once, while Indexing names of children in an orphanage, she was overcome with emotion imagining the faces of those little ones. She feels that Indexing is one thing she can do to help the Lord in gathering all of His children back to Him.
Several weeks ago Sister Grose was having some trouble with a certain aspect of indexing which caused her some frustration. She stopped, knelt down and prayed. No sooner had she sat back at the computer than the answer to the problem became very clear. Julie bears testimony that the Lord wants these records of His beloved children to be gathered together and He is willing to help us in any way He can to do this.
Thank you, Julie Grose, for sharing your testimony and the great example of service and compassion to your Brothers and Sisters of previous generations.
