UK/Wales 1871 Census

These United Kingdom Census forms are becoming a very popular beginning project. The format is similar to those beloved 1930 US Federal Census sheets we miss so much.  The U.K. Census is a little more challenging because we aren't familiar with the Counties and Towns, but there is a great Wiki Link that allows you to look at the counties and the names of the towns within them.

I have found it useful to open this link and have it available in another window while I am Indexing.  I refer to it often because there are so many confusing and complicated spellings of these counties and towns.  Please check this out:  http://wiki.familysearch.org/en/FamilySearch_Indexing:UK,_England_and_Wales—1871_Census,_Additional_Helps

If you haven't yet tried a batch from this project, I encourage you to give it chance.  Especially with this link, it is a fun project to work on.  Thanks!!
