14 Days 15 Hours 5 Minutes To Go

Have you noticed the count-down widget on this blog page?  At this very moment, this is the reading of the widget to the end of 2011.

That is shocking!  It seems like it was only a few weeks ago that I was setting up this blog and placing that widget which read: 359 days and some odd hours and minutes.

How time flies!  With just over two weeks left in the year, the Pleasant View South Stake stands at 1,344,407 records completed.  We had a goal of 1.5 million, but when we finished the 1930 Census Pages in July, the work slowed considerably.  The work has been much more difficult and time-intensive, yet so important.

I wanted to report that my son-in-law, Kelly Ahern, called me a couple of weeks ago to tell me he and Danielle were headed to the Washington DC Temple with some family names.  He had been able to locate these names due to Indexed records, which good people had transcribed and made available for research.  He was so happy to have found his ancestors and so excited to be taking their names to the temple.

This kind of story is repeated over and over now because of the great work of Indexing.  Thank you for making it happen!
