This morning I received a great question from Sister Looser of the Harrisville 5th Ward. She has been working on batches of Census forms from the United Kingdom. These are typically fairly easy to move through and Index from, but she found some entries which instead of listing the County and Town where the resident was born were only listing the country (like Ireland or Wales). There is not a cell designated for country so Rosemary wondered where or how to list the country name for those born outside of England.
Headquarters confirmed that for those born in other countries, this information should be listed in the "COUNTY" cell. Go ahead and put in a town name if listed otherwise mark the Town cell blank and just list the Country in the County column.
Thank you for the good question, Sister Looser. It is always good to learn new things so we can Index this information correctly.
